Studying For Final Exams

Final exam week is in full swing for those who didn't take them before winter break and being organized is one of the most important things that will get me through this week. I hope these organizational and study tips help you out whether you are prepping for finals or starting a new semester!

Agenda/Notebook System:
Starting around this time last year I began using a new system to organize my Lilly Pulitzer planner that has really made staying on top of things and knowing when my tests/quizzes are a lot easier. In my agenda I only write down upcoming tests and quizzes or important things that are due. Then, in my small notebook I make a to-do list for each day of the week for all of my homework and studying that needs to get done.

Quizlet:
Flashcards are one of my favorite ways to memorize information and quiz myself, but I found that they seemed to be a waste because I would spend so much time rewriting all of the information, only to throw away 50 flashcards the day after the test. I started using Quizlet a lot more this year and it is so much faster to transfer all the information to digital flashcards than to write them out. I also love the different formats you can study them in (games, tests, etc.). Not to mention you can access them at home or on your phone!

Study Books:
At the beginning of the semester my AP teachers recommended that we get review books to help while studying for tests and so far they have been a huge help! Most of them come with summaries of each chapter along with diagrams and practice tests. If you are in an AP class I would definitely recommend purchasing one!

Good luck on exams and in your new classes this semester!
