Spring Break Recap: College Tours

Over spring break, I knew I wanted to start looking at colleges (application season is coming way too quickly). I have seen a number of colleges just driving through or doing a quick walk around, but I never had time to take an official tour, so I went in not knowing what to expect. My parents and I toured Elon University, the University of Richmond, and Wake Forest University.

Elon //

I loved Elon. I don't think I've taken off my sweatshirt I got there since the car ride home. An option that I really liked was the 4-1-4 calendar because it gives you the chance to do a study abroad program without having to commit to a whole semester abroad. Traveling abroad always seemed like a scary idea, but going for one month makes it something I am more interested in and comfortable with. What I liked most about Elon was their beautiful campus, small classroom sizes, and their business school.

University of Richmond //

The campus here was so beautiful despite the tour being on a rainy day and I loved the gothic architecture of all of the buildings. University of Richmond had most of the same things to offer as Elon like the small classes and study abroad options. One thing that interested me during the information session was that the student that was giving the presentation had just scored a job with Lilly Pulitzer through the business school (sign me up, please)!

Wake Forest //

We didn't bring the camera on this tour, so here is a snap from my Snapchat of the quad.

I had always liked Wake Forest and was so excited to finally see the campus. One thing I liked about Wake was all the traditions and school spirit. I loved the campus and how they have the big school sports program for being such a small school. Both the exteriors and interiors buildings were all so beautiful as well as the landscaping!

Taking these tours and seeing what the classrooms and campus are actually like and talking with current students made college seem a lot less scary and made me more excited!
Where are you attending college or looking to attend?
